  • Simon Gunton, Director
    Simon Gunton is In Toto Ed’s Director. He started the provisions – based in London, Cambridge and Peterborough – after an illustrious career of nearly 30 years in music. He started his journey on a scholarship place at the Royal College of Music, where he studied trombone and piano. We guarantee you’ll have heard Simon play before as, along with having performed with all of the UK’s major symphony, chamber, and opera orchestras, he has played on the soundtracks of the James Bond, Harry Potter, and Mission Impossible films, and been fortunate enough to play with artists such as Paul McCartney, Elton John, Westlife, and Mariah Carey. ​ Simon’s interest in education began with leading workshops and for organisations such as the Royal Opera House, Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, Royal College of Music, Royal Academy of Music, Spitalfields Festival, British Council and Arts and Business. He was the Music Director of Escape Artists and subsequently the Director of Squeaky Gate, working with adults with mental health issues inside hospitals and the community, using music as a tool to increase wellbeing. He was also an animateur with primary and secondary school children, university students, hospice patients, autistic children, prisoners, young offenders, the probation service, homeless and mental health communities, enlivening their experiences through music. ​ When asked why he started In Toto Ed, Simon replied; “I had a really fantastic and fortunate career as a trombone playing musician and achieved many of my dreams, so I felt it was the right time to help others believe that they could the same.” Hear Simon's story
  • Emily Gunton, Director, Head of In Toto London, and Executive Head of In Toto Cambridge
    Emily Gunton is Director, Head of In Toto London and Executive Head of In Toto Cambridge. With an illustrious background in music, she studied at the Royal College of Music and holds an impressive array of qualifications, including BMus (Hons), Dip ABRSM, QTS, and NPQH. She is currently studying for her NPQ (SENCO). Emily's career began as a highly sought-after freelance percussionist, performing with world-class orchestras such as the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House. She also led transformative workshops for renowned institutions: Wigmore Hall, Britten Sinfonia, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. These experiences ignited her passion for teaching and paved the way for her distinguished leadership roles, including Director of Music, Head of Co-Curricular & Outreach, and School Consultant Teacher at a prestigious independent girls' school, where she made a lasting impact over a decade. A vocal advocate for gender equality in music education, Emily is a prolific writer, contributing thought-provoking articles to Music Teacher Magazine, The Guardian, and the Times Educational Supplement, where she is a regular columnist. Her expertise extends beyond writing—she has composed a selection of pieces for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music’s groundbreaking new Drum Kit syllabus and is a highly regarded keynote speaker, specialising in music education, gender equity, and special educational needs. Emily’s true passion lies in empowering young people to discover their unique talents and carve out meaningful futures. She thrives in alternative provision, where she helps students re-engage with learning, guiding them toward further and higher education, employment, or apprenticeships. As a visionary leader, Emily has played a pivotal role in developing the In Toto Ed curriculum, shaping the educational experience across all three schools and ensuring that every student receives the support they need to flourish.   • Stuart Judge, Head of In Toto Peterborough
    Stuart is our Head of In Toto Peterborough - where he is also the DSL - joining us with over 27 years in the education sector. Having originally trained as a PE Teacher, he spent the early part of his career teaching the subject and quickly progressed to first Head of PE, and then Director of Sport. The majority of his career has been spent in large state secondary schools in various roles of senior leadership, including successfully improving one school’s OFSTED rating from “inadequate”, to “good”. Three years ago, Stuart left state education to become the Head of an independent school. It was here that he realised his passion for working with SEND students, helping them to achieve their personal best and become more well-rounded individuals. As Head of In Toto Peterborough, Stuart looks forward to applying his wealth of experience to enriching the lives of our young people; always keeping the individual students in mind to provide a truly tailored educational offering.   • Stacey Green, Director of HR, Compliance & Safeguarding
    Stacey Green is our Director of HR, Compliance & Safeguarding, and the Cambridge DSL. She has over 16 years of experience in SEND management roles, including working with both adults and children at one of the largest residential special schools in the south. ​ Stacey’s favourite part of her job lies within the recruitment process, ensuring that our students have access to the best possible professionals for the job. She supports both our young people and her colleagues in achieving their true potential, making sure that every individual’s needs are met and they feel happy and safe in their daily activities. An inspiring and motivated person, Stacey has dedicated her life to improving the lives of others.
  • Camilla Beecham, Deputy Head of In Toto London
    Camilla has been teaching for 22 years across a wide variety of educational settings. She enjoys working with young people to develop their skills in English, and deepen their enjoyment of the subject, whilst also helping other staff to deliver engaging and interesting learning experiences. She has worked as a classroom teacher, SENCO, Pastoral leader for Key Stages 3 and 4, Advanced Skills Teacher, Head of UCAS and Head of English. An examiner for 15 years, Camilla has experience of marking for many different examination boards including AQA, and Cambridge iGCSE. Her favourite part of working in an alternative provision is seeing young people discover the joy of learning, and develop their English skills through inspiring texts and creative writing. As Deputy Head of In Toto London she enjoys being involved with the strategic element of managing an alternative provision, as well as helping young people to achieve their best through exceptional teaching.
  • Trine Whittemore, Assistant Head of In Toto Peterborough
    Trine is the Assistant Head of In Toto Peterborough, joining us with over 25 years’ experience in education. She began her career in Post-16, teaching BTEC National in Sport, Exercise Science, and A-level PE. After a period living in Canada, she returned to the UK and began working in large secondary schools, initially teaching PE. It was during this time that Trine began developing a strong interest in pastoral care and wellbeing, ultimately shifting her focus to supporting students’ mental health and overall welfare. ​ Before joining In Toto Ed, Trine took on a senior leadership role as Head of Pastoral, in an independent school where the students had a broad range of complex needs, from dyslexia, to ADHD, Autism, anxiety and EBSA. Her responsibilities quickly expanded, and she became the Mental Health and Attendance Champion. ​ Trine’s qualifications include a BEd in Physical Education from Crewe and Alsager (now Manchester Metropolitan University) and 6 years’ experience as a DDSL, as well as further studies in mental health, special educational needs (especially ADHD, autism, and dyslexia), and a Diploma in Educational Psychology. She also has experience as a school governor, where she contributed to safeguarding and policy development. ​ Why I Enjoy My Role: “Every young person deserves the best opportunities to achieve their potential, to learn in a way that works for them, and to have someone who believes in them, no matter the challenges.   • Mark Venters, Head of Quality & Outreach
    Mark is our Head of Quality and Outreach and DDSL, Peterborough. He has been working in education in and around Peterborough for nearly 30 years, starting out as a student support worker at Peterborough College before obtaining his Level 5 Certificate in Education and Training. He was promoted to teaching within the Inclusive Learning Department, predominantly working with learners who were in danger of becoming NEET (not in education, employment or training). ​ Mark’s career next took him to a post within the Senior Leadership Team at a specialist autism and behaviour college, where he was Assistant Head of Curriculum. He is now holds qualifications in first aid, mental health, and TAQA 3&4. He joined us at In Toto Peterborough in 2022 where he aims to create a positive, safe, and inspiring environment where both students and staff and succeed in their goals. His favourite part of the job is helping students achieve the best possible outcomes that they deserve, and watching them grow into young adults.
  • Daisy Munroe, Assistant Head (London - Teaching & Learning)
    Daisy is the Assistant Head (Teaching and Learning) at In Toto London. With over 10 years of teaching experience across a variety of settings - from inner London academies to an international school in the Dominican Republic, and an independent girls’ school - Daisy brings a wealth of experience to her role. She holds a PGCE in Secondary English from Canterbury Christchurch University and a BA (Hons) in English & Philosophy from the University of Southampton. A passionate reader, Daisy enjoys sharing her favourite books with both staff and students at In Toto Ed. In her leadership role, Daisy is dedicated to fostering a positive, student-centered learning environment and shaping an engaging, forward-thinking curriculum. She is particularly focused on driving innovative teaching and learning strategies, with a focus on PSHE to make sure that the curriculum reflects the diverse needs, interests, and aspirations of the students. Daisy’s approach is always student-focused, aiming to provide an educational experience that prepares learners for both academic and personal success. Daisy has extensive experience in leading whole-school Teaching and Learning initiatives, from delivering CPD sessions to staff and contributing to literacy and engagement strategies, to leading a comprehensive overhaul of the PSHE curriculum. Her work has included personalising the curriculum to meet the needs of all students, from high achievers to those from underrepresented cultural groups. Daisy is passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student feels valued and challenged, enabling them to thrive academically and personally.
  • Stephanie Noble, Assistant Head (London - SENCO)
    Stephanie is the Assistant Head (SENCO) at In Toto London, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a true passion for supporting students with special educational needs (SEN). With 10 years of teaching experience, she spent eight of those years working in special schools and alternative provisions, four of which were dedicated to specialising in autism. Stephanie's commitment lies in helping every student with SEN unlock their full potential and strive towards greater independence. She has worked with a diverse range of students, including those with cerebral palsy, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, and various life-limiting and genetic conditions. With experience that spans working with children and young people from ages 3 to 25, Stephanie is equipped with a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by students at various stages of life. Her career also includes a focus on alternative education, having first gained experience in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) during her teaching placement in Brighton. Beyond the classroom, she contributed to supporting the homeless community while studying in Brighton and, more recently, she has strengthened her connection to diverse and vulnerable populations by continuing this work in South London. Stephanie holds a BA Hons in Primary Education with QTS, specialising in primary maths teaching, and is currently working towards the NPQ SENCO qualification. As a SENCO, Stephanie is dedicated to ensuring that every student receives tailored support to thrive academically and personally. This involves implementing effective EHCPs, conducting comprehensive annual reviews, and providing both group and one-on-one support sessions to help her students achieve their best.
  • Nicole Farnham-King, Assistant Head (Peterborough - SENCO)
    Nicole is the Assistant Head (SENCO) in our Peterborough School. She gained a BA (Hons) in Drama and an MA in Applied Drama before completing her PGCE in 2016. She has been working in education ever since, first as a teacher in a mainstream school, before moving to special education. Nicole has made significant career progression since joining In Toto Ed as an English Teacher in 2021, first as a Team Leader, and now part of the Senior Leadership Team as our Assistant Head (SENCO). Her role now entails helping support and advocate for our students and their needs, and collaborating with teachers and parents as well as external agencies to create an inclusive learning environment for our students. “I enjoy my role, as I am able to help make a difference to the young people we work with, and help them achieve their potential.”
